Is September another kind of New Year? It feels that way doesn't it? New schedules, new classes to join, resetting of routines, refreshing wardrobes for colder weather....I don’t know about you but that’s exactly how I’m feeling!
September heralds the beginning of Virgo season. Expect organisational urges, re-evaluations of everything and anything, expect a desire to refresh and renew and get all your ducks in a row. Virgo season will have you reassing your wellness and your routines- perfect for self-development junkies like us lot here at The Harmony Hub NI!
I’ve got myself Virgo-ed up with a new desk, new planner and a good deep clean round the Studio. It's a great thing for someone as disorganised as me, so if you're like me- let yourself go with that flow! Declutter and start clearing your space for the darkness and the days winding and slowing down. Look into ways you can streamline your schedule and make life easier for yourself.
Here are 4 cool ways you can squeeze all the good juice out of the Virgo vibes.
Reboot Your Diet! Nope- I don’t mean stop eating and punish yourself and go on a crash diet. Let’s face it, Summer time is for having fun and socialising and we generally over-indulge. Same as Christmas. And that’s totally fine- it shows we’re rolling with the seasons and enjoying ourselves! However- we can’t stay in holiday mode forever, let’s start bringing back in those densely nutritious foods, juices and snacks. Take care of your gut with fermented juices and probiotics and prebiotics.
Move Your Body. Just because it’s winding down into cosy season is no excuse to get sluggish! Start digging out those lighter jumpers that you can throw on for a brisk walk and get the umbrella handy so there’s no excuse! Why not look into booking a class that will help you stay active and socialise too? Bellydancing is back at The Harmony Hub on Thursdays this new term!
Reset Your Sacred Space. As with all turnings of the wheel, crossing of thresholds into new times, a reset of your special space at home is in order. This could be a dismantling and resetting of what you’ve got on your altar, or a setting up of a new meditation space with fresh blankets and candles around. Make it easy for you to drop into a still meditation or journalling practise.
Get some new books! Visit your library, your local bookshop or even browse the free online library on your tablet. Nothing beats a cosy read at the end of a busy day. September is full of the rushing around and form-filling and shopping for the kids. There’s so much to think about so it’s good to have something to look forward to at the end of your day that’s good for your soul.
BONUS STEP:
Leave It In The Past. As with all new seasons, it’s a good idea to make an intentional step forward towards something and away from something. Consider what you’d like to leave in the past, it could be habits, ideas, old goals or even people and places you went. Start fresh and set intentions to break away from what keeps you feeling stuck or down.
