The Soma Journey

Thousands of years ago, in the Golden Age of the Vedic tradition, the ancient Rishis gathered together to take part in a sacred ritual. Using a mysterious plant substance known as Soma, they entered states of profound bliss, divine connection, and visionary insight. The verses that came through them in those altered states became the Rig Veda, one of the oldest and most revered texts in human history, the very root of yoga, Ayurveda, tantra, and so much of the wisdom we still draw on today.

The legend tells us that eventually, Soma ran out. And so the Rishis turned inward. They discovered that the connection they had been seeking through an external substance was available within them all along. Through the power of breath and rhythm, they found a way back to that same state of bliss, clarity, and oneness. Pranayama was born.
